It’s Friday again, and we wanted to share with you three of the stories from across the world that activated our minds and informed our work this week...
If you don’t already follow Paperboyo on Instagram, we recommend you do! Rich McCor travels the world and uses beautifully designed paper cut-outs to bring iconic landmarks to life in a creative and often humorous way. The photographs he creates are joyful and it’s great to see he is getting some recognition for his art.
Away from the buzz of modern life, sprawled out in the scorching sands of the Nevada desert, Burning Man is one of the world's most renowned arts and culture festivals. This is a place that doesn't exchange any money, so people are expected to bring their own food, water and shelter - sharing and caring for one another as a community. This year they are celebrating change and uncertainty with the theme of ‘metamorphoses’. Check out some of the phenomenal art installations that have been created for the spectacle this year.
The Happy School
Next month in Miami, The Centner Academy plans to start a whole new educational experience for their pupils. Along with academics, the school will place a focus on wellbeing and happiness. The curriculum will involve classes focussing on emotional intelligence, mindfulness and meditation to help set kids up for a happier future. I’m not sure about you, but I wish we’d had this when I was in school! The co-founders are certainly bringing people making better people to life!
