Happy December! Here are three of the stories from across the world that activated our minds and informed our work this week.
The Season of Giving
To mark the beginning of December, many of us are lucky enough to be filled with festive joy as we open the windows of our advent calendars. But for some people in desperate need of food - a chocolate treat is the last thing on their lists. To spread some love this season, Foodbank has launched a ‘reverse advent calendar’ - asking people to donate items of food as a daily gift to those in need.
Make Yourself Heard
With election day fast approaching (Thursday 12th) we loved this roundup of the creative projects that are peaking people’s interests and encouraging them to get hands-on with voting. Whether you’re a lefty, a righty or anywhere in between - we can all agree the importance of having your say and making your opinion count.
Jump into Christmas!
Why don’t you make next Friday 13th December a lucky one and take part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day! All you have to do is wear a festive jumper, encourage your friends, family, and people at work to get involved, donate £2 to Save the Children and that money goes towards helping children all around the world! And as Coach Christmas says in the video below, you will look pretty awesome while doing your bit to help!
