Christmas is fast approaching, so we thought we’d dedicate this week to bringing you activating stories that could inspire the perfect gift...
Elf AI Secret Santa
Thousands of children in the UK face Christmas without food, warmth or love. That’s why Action for Children has opened an interactive “virtual gifting” store in Covent Garden, which allows visitors to become a Secret Santa for vulnerable young people. The Winter Wonderland themed pop-up uses some amazing "Elf.ai." technology to analyse visitor’s reactions to festive photographs, and recommend which gift they should donate based on what makes them smile.
The gifts start from a hot meal for £10 right up to a warm safe bed for the night at £60. We think it is a wonderful tailored experience for all! The store is open from 10am to 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 12pm to 6pm on Sundays.
Books Make Us Better
It’s that time of year where we can no longer put off thinking about what gift to get. And luckily for us, Penguin Random House has made things a whole lot easier. (and more fun!) Their festive campaign aims to promote the timeless gift of a book, and even helps you to choose which one to get. From uncles to in-laws - or even yourself, the engaging micro-site allows you to identify which sentiment best describes the receiver, and reconnects you with the emotions associated with reading.
Shame on You Fido!
For people who unconditionally love their pets, or those who need comforting because they can’t have one...these pet shaming calendars for 2020 are a strong gift contender. With a version dedicated to dogs and one for cats too, the hilariously adorable images will fill your year ahead with mischief and delight - all courtesy of Pascale Lemire of dedicated blog dogshaming.com.
