What’s it for: Sharing the most potent leadership question.
Who’s it for: Any one who leads others.
It’s not often I find a TV drama a lesson in leadership, staff engagement and internal communication; however, I believe Amazon Prime’s ‘New Amsterdam’ is precisely that. I was a huge fan of ER, so I was excited to be recommended ‘New Amsterdam’. A drama based on the book: Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital; by Eric Manheimer. Dr Max Goodwin is the new medical director at America's oldest public hospital ‘New Amsterdam’ and is determined to break down the bureaucracy to provide exceptional care. He disrupts the status quo and proves he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital.
He continually asks the most potent leadership question; ‘How Can I Help’. So simple yet so powerful.
Thanks to Ruth Dance for the recommendation, it indeed is a real lesson in leadership, staff engagement and internal communication.
